1. Emma laughed yesterday. I was in the kitchen and I asked Ava to go show her a story to help entertain her, and a minute later I heard Emma laughing - so fun! I looked over and she was just staring at the ceiling laughing, so I don't know what Ava did or if she just thought the ceiling was funny.

2. Ava slept through the night. I feel like that should be in capital letters. She has done it twice in the last three days. I feel like this is something you usually hear when a baby is a few months old, not when she is 2 1/2. I can't even describe how exciting this is!! I haven't been able to figure out her sleeping problems for over a year, other than I think she has nightmares. And if she goes to bed too early she either thinks it's a nap and is wide awake after a few hours or she wakes herself up crying and not very responsive for awhile, like she is having a bad dream. We moved her to a big girl bed in a new room to make room for Emma, so that didn't help, but she would do it even when she was sleeping in my bed with me. Yes, we even did that for awhile. Anyway, FINALLY, we are making some progress!!!!

3. I finally started finishing the trim and baseboards in our house. I have filled and sanded all of the nail holes, and done almost all of the caulking, and have painted a little bit. It's only been a few years since we moved in...but hey better late than never, right?
4. I bought a Bissell green machine this week because it was on sale and I cleaned the seats in my car. They were awful. I am so excited about this, you have no idea. Kids and cloth seats...bad combo.
5. Ava and I have started to go to the library on Monday afternoons, and she absolutely loves it. She can't wait to go to the li-bary. I love seeing her excited about books. When we read her books at storytime, I only read it once or twice and then she practically reads it to me. She loves stories.
6. Ava tells me every day, multiple times, how she "real misses" her cousin, Gavin. I love having a sister close by and I love that our kids are friends! We called him on the phone today and her face totally lit up and she had a huge smile when she heard him talking to her.
7. I have been reading books about babies and sleep (I am so determined that Emma sleeps like her sister didn't!) and have been having some success with getting Emma to put herself to sleep. I don't think it's actually anything I'm doing, though. She is a lot different than Ava was as a baby (read: easier). But I'll take it!
8. Tax season is almost over! Just a couple more weeks (which means I had better hurry up and get my stuff together for my husband so he can do ours...) and then we are planning to go to Utah for a few days - can't wait! I hope Emma travels well! She is not really a fan of the carseat, but she just recently became a fan of the soother so hopefully the combination works for all of us. :)
9. I surprised Clark with tickets to the Backstreet Boys (he and his friends may have been a little obsessed in high school....) as his end-of-tax-season-you-deserve-a-prize-for-working-so-hard present. It's next month, and it's also the week of our anniversary - 5 years! Wow. We haven't been to a concert since the week after we got engaged - we're exciting like that. So it will be fun!
10. We have finally been able to get outside a few days in the last week! The girls and I went for a walk and played at the park, and Ava has been riding her bike on our street - so nice to be outside!
These are pictures I took of the two girls with Emma in her blessing dress:
Emma wasn't very excited about pictures, and when she started to cry, Ava looked at me like, "Oh well!"
Love my girls! And I love that Ava loves her baby sister.
