We're getting married!

We're getting married! Clark made a whole day out of the proposal. The night before, I stayed at his house and when we got there, there were 2 dozen roses, an adorable little stuffed horse, and an envelope with my name on it. I opened the envelope to find tickets to Twilight the next day! The next morning we went to Lethbridge and started our very first Christmas tradition by selecting children in need (from this tree they have) to buy gifts for. :) We went to Toys R' Us and had fun wandering around trying to find the perfect presents.

We went to Twilight, then went back to his house to get dressed up for a nice dinner. We walked out to his Jeep, and he opened my door and started grabbing stuff from inside, then shut the door and walked around to the other side. Clark always opens my door for me, and usually waits until I'm inside the vehicle before he shuts the door, so I was a little unsure as to what was going on. He came back around turned me around, and we walked over to the garage. He made me open the door, so I was expecting something crazy, but there was nothing out of the ordinary. He then walked around to his dad's truck and opened the door for me. :) He knows I love big trucks, so he pulled some strings with his dad to let us take the truck.

I had no idea where we were going, especially as we headed west out of Raymond, since we always go north to get to my house or to Lethbridge. Clark asked me where I thought I was going, and I had no clue. He told me we were going to take a little journey to revisit our past, and we were going to a special spot. I got it - Waterton! We had spent an afternoon in Waterton this summer, and it was a really good memory for both of us.

To start the night off, he told me, I needed to open the glove box, open the envelope I would find inside, and tell him what it said. I did as I was told and opened the envelope to find tickets for floor seats to the Carrie Underwood concert on Monday!! I had really wanted to go months ago (in Salt Lake) when tickets first went on sale, but things didn't end up working out with roommates, etc., and I wasn't planning on coming home for the Thanksgiving break to see her here. So, I was disappointed. She is one of my favorite artists, and I was disappointed that she was so close and I wasn't going. I had mentioned this to Clark when I was down in Utah, and he had immediately begun the hunt for tickets. Unfortunately, it being only a couple of weeks before the concert, tickets were impossible to get. He tried all of his friends, acquaintances, eBay, etc. On Thursday, a day before I came home, a lady at work told him she had heard on the radio that there were a few more tickets available. He called every radio station, and no one knew anything about it. So, he called the ticket office first thing Friday morning, was on hold for about 15 minutes, and got the tickets!

When I opened the envelope, I was caught completely by surprise, and for some crazy reason (I'm a girl?) I started crying! Of course, I was a little embarrassed, so I ended up laughing and crying at the same time. Clark just laughed, but I think he was okay with the reaction. :)

After that, he told me he was just getting started. On the way to Waterton, we made stops at other places where we'd had dates, etc., and at each stop he gave me a present to open (all of them were so thoughtful and sweet), including my very own Blue Jays hat. :) Finally, in Waterton, we stopped at a certain special spot, and he told me he was giving me the final present. Of course, that kind of gave me butterflies! I opened it to find a ring box inside, and he took it from me and got down on one knee. He said all kinds of mushy amazing things, then asked me to marry him! Of course, I said yes. Oh yeah. I was a happy girl. We went out for a really nice dinner in Waterton before we headed back to Raymond. Along the way, we stopped at the Dairy Queen in Cardston (more memories!) for dessert. We got back to his house, and told his parents, and I called my mom and told her the whole amazing story.

1 day closer to you...

I like the song "One Day Closer To You" by Carolyn Dawn Johnson, so I was thinking of that line today. However, the song is about how she hasn't found him yet, so it really doesn't apply here. Nice, right? Regardless, I will see Clark in one more day. I have a ton of things to get done tonight so I can be ready to leave as soon as I'm done my class tomorrow. I can't wait!

*This picture: just one example of the *amazing* things you find on google.

4 days...

...until we see each other!! I'll get home at around 11:00 pm, but Clark says he'll drive to come see me. :) What a guy. I can't wait! Who knew 3 weeks would take so long to go by. It feels like it's been forever since I was in Canada.

If I didn't have a quiz in class on Friday that I really need credit for, I'd leave at 6 am. Or, the night before. Maybe today. Or maybe yesterday.

Clark made a good point the other day. Even if I just skipped this whole week, I'd still pass all of my classes. But, we both have this thing called a conscious, or, you could call it common sense, so we decided against the idea pretty quickly. Even though we've turned into gigantic cheese balls and are that mushy couple we used to love to hate, at least we can still think logically at times...what a relief. Well, Clark does. :)

4 more days!

Favorite Things To Do With Clark

Clark and I started this blog as a way to leave messages for each other, but I couldn't remember how to make it private right away, and then Clark used it to show pictures of me to a few people, so the secret got out!

Lately, we (well, probably I) decided that we need to actually put stuff on this blog. So, we're starting off with Top 10 lists. They're mostly for us, but if you're not us, maybe you'll find them interesting! :)

Of all the things Clark and I do together (do we do anything other than talk on the phone?? jk!), here are my favorites:

1. Snuggling, etc (I'm sure, if you know me, that this is impossible to believe...haha)

2. Shopping anywhere for anything, but especially for clothes.

3. Talking (our first really good talk, we got kicked out of Henderson by a cop).

4. Eating out (I still remember, on maybe our second date, Clark singing out loud in Tony Roma's).

5. Watching sports, live or on TV.

6. Playing sports (We've tried tennis, frisbee, golf, and basketball. Tried. :)).

7. Playing with our nephews and nieces.

8. Talking on the phone/Texting (we do this a lot).

9. Going for drives. Yes, Clark, in the Jeep. :)

10. Taking pictures. Either I take the pictures and he holds my camera bag (Aw!), or we're getting our picture taken together, and it's hilarious. He doesn't really like getting his picture taken, but he does it anyway. :)

Flowers from Clark

My roommate just sent me a text containing a picture of this surprise she found on our doorstep...thanks to Clark! What an amazing boyfriend. :) I'm on campus finishing a paper, but I can't wait to get home to see my flowers!

***Update***

I got home! Me and my flowers:

He's so good to me. :) From this post, you'd think the guy never sends me flowers, but, it's not true. I still have a vase of dead flowers on my desk that I haven't wanted to throw away. I know, weird. But I'm weirdly sentimental like that. I think I can throw them away now. :)

Weekend in Canada

These are from our weekend together in Canada. :)

Clark decided to drive over an hour just to surprise me at my brother's volleyball tournament (and get out of work...). He walked up to me and totally scared me! My brother's team ended up winning; and Clark got to wait for me while I took team pictures. :)

At my house just hanging out with the family.

Self portrait of ourselves.

Me and one of my favorite 3-year-olds ( I have a niece who's 3)!

Happy Birthday Clark!

Clark is 2_ today! I'll never tell...:)

We just spent an awesome weekend together in Canada! It was so hard to say goodbye. I love this man. "He's everything I want and everything I need," to quote a favorite song. Just a little cheese for ya... I can't wait to see him again in three weeks!
