The railings are in - one step closer!

We did our first load of laundry in our new washer and dryer!!

 The carpet is all in downstairs:

And this thing is going in the garbage! I was using the hose on the back of it to vacuum up all the little threads on the staircase, and when I moved the vacuum, it had totally fuzzed a nice spot right where it was sitting. And it looks like it sort of burned a spot. On our brand new carpet!! So, I think we're going to get rid of this cheapie and get something decent.

My little sister's 21st birthday was on a Saturday, but on Sunday we went to my parents to hang out with her and celebrate.

Carpet!

I LOVE walking on this in my bare feet. Isn't it funny how trends come back? I remember when I was really little, we had green shag carpet, and now, the shag is back! Everyone has this stuff. It's not green or orange, thank goodness, but it's shag. There are some things from my childhood that I wish would have disappeared forever, like stirrup pants, but shag carpet I will take!

Clark didn't know I was taking his picture. The door to the left of him is the "gym" - the one room without flooring. Until the tile is done, that's where the tile cutter is, so hopefully the tile gets done soon! The flooring we have for it is like that black gym mat stuff, so we'll have our treadmill, bike, etc in there. I'm so excited to get on my treadmill again! I still want to run another 1/2 marathon, so I really need to get running.

Taps & Toilets - you know you want to see

I just looked at my blog at the last house pictures I posted, and it looks a little different now, especially the kitchen! I thought I was way up to date but I guess not. I'm sure all 2 of my readers are just DYING to see my cabinets, so maybe I'll go and take some pictures later. Last night all of our taps were in so I went around taking pictures of them (because I like taking pictures - shocker I know):

This tap is actually getting changed today - it's supposed to have a brushed finish. The piece of paper says don't touch me, my silicone is drying.

This actually works! So excited.

Clark told me no one wanted to see pictures of toilets. He's right, but it was in the folder and I decided not to remove it.  My favorite thing? The seats come off to clean! And no one can slam the lids down.

The upper cabinets in the kitchen are supposed to be in this week, and the basement cabinets are supposed to be in today. Carpet comes on Monday, and all that's left is trim, tile, railing, fireplace mantel, closet rods/shelving, and a million other odds and ends I'm sure! But, we're getting really close.

I buy Martha

 I exported these out of Lightroom like I was going to put them on my photography blog - I guess it's habit! Anyway, Clark and I took our 3000th trip to Home Depot the other night  and I saw these stockings! We don't have matching stockings, and of course, that's a must have, so I got them! I have this huge thing for grey and silver, not sure if you've noticed, and I just love the Christmas color scheme of silver, white, and blues, so these fit in perfectly!

They also had a big bucket of Christmas tree ornaments so I got that, too. As we were walking to the tills to pay, we passed 4 girls (employees) just standing around by the tills, and as we walked past them, the one girl said, so that we could overhear, "I refuse to buy Martha"- now I would just love to have an employee like that! Haha and then she said it again just in case we hadn't heard her. In case the picture is too small - these are Martha Stewart decorations. What a girl!

 Hopefully in a few weeks we'll have a Christmas tree up in the new house!
