28 Weeks and goodbye Bri

I'm always a little behind on these "weeks" posts - today I'm actually 29 weeks but these are pictures from last week.

My little sister has already gone down to St. George for school, but the day before she left we had a big family dinner at my parent's house. And, I made her take these pics of me.

Not as good in front of the camera. Remind me of that if I ever do this pose for you.

 This kid is growing.

And then Bri wanted to see if she could look as pregnant as I do:

Love my little sis - I'm going to miss this girl like crazy!!

My Day Off

I have two weeks of vacation days built up, but it's so hard to get away from a rec job in the summer! Clark has 3-4 hours of homework every night to get done for his CASB assignments each week, and he doesn't have any vacation, so that has made it hard to make any vacation plans, too. So, I took one day off!

My little sister Bri is taking off for Utah to go to school, so we had one last family outing to Waterton before she left.

Grandpa and Gavin.

Almost all of the girls!

This baby girl's first hike in Waterton.

Yup, still prego. 28 weeks.

Gav was a trooper! :)

Clark wants one of her puppies. I wasn't the only prego on the hike.

Shoe shopping. Gotta measure to get the right size!

Out of order? Not a problem.

A little mother-son competition.

My baby sis who's leaving us for Utah.

All tuckered out.

Barnwell Days

I went out to Barnwell for Barnwell Days on the 24th. Clark stayed home and did homework, lucky guy. My younger sisters (in light pink) were all in the parade with my nephew. If your kids want candy, take them to the Barnwell parade - the kids there were happy kids.

Poor kid is going blind:

Here he's saying "Hi Grandpa! Hi Grandpa!"

The happy parade people:

I was determined to get one picture of me during the day. Me & Gav.

I missed the pink memo...

There's the bump:

It was nice to see some Barnwell people again - I don't make it out there much these days!

25 Weeks & the Nursery

It's hard to get pictures taken of yourself when you're always the one taking pictures! I resorted to a self-portrait in my mirror. Also, not the cutest day so I was just fine with hiding my face behind the camera.

This is me at 25 weeks. This little girl is growing! She moves around and kicks a lot - that's the best part about pregnancy so far. It is a little weird to look down and see your stomach moving around on its own, but it's fun. I'm enjoying it before she gets big enough to really hurt me. A few times I've noticed her start moving a lot when Clark starts talking next to me. I told Clark she loves her daddy already! I have way more energy than I did a couple of months ago, but I notice if I do too much I don't feel as good the next day - sort of a flashback of the first trimester.

We bought a few more things as far as baby girl clothes, we have a few receiving blankets, and that's it so far! Other than the nasal aspirator I bought randomly one day in Wal-mart. Yikes. I have been looking at ideas for her room, but I haven't started that yet either. Maternity leave will be busy! Clark starts another class on Monday so he's going to be really busy again. We've got a dresser and a bookshelf that need to be painted, and then they're going in her room, so one of these days we're going to have to get on that. I'm thinking a lot of white - yes, shocker, and touches of aqua and purple. But that may change tomorrow. :) I do like pink for a girl, too. I love too many colors and styles. These are all pictures I pinned on Pinterest:

They all seem different to me other than the white and grey - I just love grey for some reason. The walls in the nursery are a light grey, just a little lighter than our main area. Anyway, one of these days the nursery will start to look like a nursery, which I'm excited for!

Just a Mom

I've never liked when people said "I'm just a mom," or when people talked about someone else being "just a mom." I don't think anyone is "just" a mom - being a mom is HUGE - but today? Today I wanted to be "just a mom."

(I don't have any pictures, but blog posts without pictures just aren't fun, so here's my lame attempt to incorporate some visual interest :))

We're 22 weeks, and even though I really do like my job, I'm already looking forward to some things about maternity leave. I'm excited to not be the Kinsey Holt who works for the Town for awhile. I'm looking forward to getting to hang out with the friends who get to go to the pool with their kids during the day while I sweat at my desk. :) I'm looking forward to going to the grocery store and running errands in the middle of the day in the middle of the week.

Today was one of those days where I dealt with upset patrons, complaints about a lifeguard, complaints about the prices, complaints, complaints, complaints.

Even though the public is often the hardest part of my job, it's also the best part of my job. I have loved getting to know people in the community better, and working with them. There are some really awesome people in this town. I think I'll miss being "in" on some things, like the Summer Games next summer. Managing 23 of them can be challenging, but I do like all of my lifeguards at the pool. I like getting to know them all and seeing some of them grow up, or gain confidence, or discover they're talented at something they didn't know they were, like teaching kids how to swim. I love when people actually say thank you to you after you tried really hard to make something fun for them. I love seeing programs run successfully. I really do like my job - it's a great job. It's absolutely crazy sometimes, but there are definitely things that make it worth it.

But I'm still looking forward to being "just a mom" for awhile. :)
